Homemade laundry detergent

After reading and trying different recipes for laundry detergent, I found this one to be the easiest and the best:
1 cup Borax
1 cup Super Washing Soda
1 bar Dove soap (You can use the notorious laundry bar soap or Ivory, as long as it is close to pure soap)
4 liters cold water
4 liters hot water
Grate soap bar into 4 liters water, bring to a soft boil until soap shavings melt. Once melted add the Borax and Washing Soda. Boil until granules are no longer felt when stirring. Once boiling, turn off heat. Cool for a while (I usually wait about 5-10 minutes) then add to 4 liters cool water. As mixture cools, it will thicken you can add a little more water at this point if you want to. We make ours like a syrup consistency. You can then pour the mixture into a reused detergent bottle of gallon bottles from Milk or whatever you have. I've seen some people actually put it in clear reusable water dispensers. We use our old bottles from store bought detergent and just relabel them. I've also made this as a half batch because I didn't have a pot large enough to hold 8 liters of liquid. I love this detergent, it is gentle enough for the babies clothes and blankets, yet great for getting stains and odors out too.
